Going to Hell

QUESTION: Can I be safe from going to hell?

ANSWER:

Yes! You can be safe from going to hell. In fact, it is so easy that many people have great difficulty believing that there is not more they need to do.

We are all sinners. Therefore, we need to acknowledge that, and agree with God that we have sinned. God's Word says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Since we are not able to make wise decisions on our own, we need to have someone who is much wiser than we are to help us through life's struggles. There is only One who can do that and He is Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son.

When we agree with God that we are sinners and ask for forgiveness, He forgives us! Jesus Christ, God's only Son comes into our heart and life to change us and help us live the way He would have us live. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

If you want to enter Heaven and not go to Hell, you must truly believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son.

Jesus has said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Therefore, we must understand that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, there is no other way. Furthermore, in Romans we find this verse, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)." This tells us that we can never get our lives straightened out before we ask Jesus Christ into our lives; He accepts us just as we are.

The Bible tells us that we can do nothing on our own to get to Heaven. God does it all! Ephesians 2:8-10 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
